与此前媒体报道的约有40多家公司有意收购雅虎核心业务的消息相比，沙尔曼最新报道的有意竞购雅虎的公司数量明显要少得多。例如，据知情人士透露的消息，Rakuten从未与雅虎进行相关的谈判，然而，本周初，却有大量的媒体宣称Rakuten将在首轮竞标中参与竞购雅虎。
