5月27日，央行在媒体通气会上表示，自2014年6月3日起，将对个人查询本人信用报告收费，每年前两次免费，第三次以上，每次收取服务费25元。

2014年个人查询次数自2014年6月3日开始计算，2015年以后每年查询次数从当年1月1日起计算。

此前，2013年3月27日起，中国人民银行征信中心个人信用信息服务平台面向江苏、四川、重庆三省(市)社会公众开展验证试用。随后，自2013年10月28日起，试点扩至9省份，增加北京、山东、辽宁、湖南、广西、广东6个试点省份。

在此前的试点通知中，央行表示，为保障个人信息安全，个人通过互联网查询本人信用报告必须进行严格的身份验证。只有通过身份验证的个人才能注册成为查询用户。目前，提供两种身份验证方式:数字证书验证方式和私密性问题验证方式，个人可以选择其中一种方式进行身份验证。在选择私密性问题验证方式时，若个人身份验证没有通过，属于正常情况，个人可以转用数字证书方式进行身份验证，也可以到人民银行分支机构现场查询。

央行表示，互联网查询旨在为社会公众提供一个非现场查询服务渠道，个人通过互联网就可以查询本人信用报告，对于更好地维护社会公众的知情权，提升社会信用意识具有重要意义。
