这些Linux服务器每天都需要处理大量带宽、存储、数据计算以及内存交换等任务。而网络罪犯则利用被感染的Linux服务器窃取账户凭据、重定向网络流量、指向恶意网站内容、发送各类垃圾邮件。

目前受影响地区覆盖德国、英国、法国和美国。

据ESET公司保守估计，这些被感染的Linux服务器每天为恶意网站带来百万级别的访问流量，而背后的网络罪犯每天可以发送3.5亿封垃圾邮件。
