Environment there are traces of cesium-137 and CS-134, they are the result of human activities. 环境中存在着微量的铯-137与铯-134，它们都是人类核活动的产物。铯-137的半衰期为30年，因此在三文鱼中如果检测到铯-137，也有可能来自其他核活动，如核试验等。铯-134的半衰期约为2年，而福岛核事故发生在2011年，因此如果从太平洋中检测到铯-134，就能确定是来自福岛核泄漏，它也因此被称作是“福岛核污染的指纹”。
