27万美元年薪是个什么概念？据一份统计数据，2013年全美国有90%的家庭年收入在15万美元以下，即便考虑这3年来工资有限的涨幅，但27万美元年薪，也足以让这位华裔地铁清洁工成为美国收入阶层金字塔塔尖的人。
美国权威薪资调查网站Payscale公布的2016-2017年最新高校薪酬报告显示，哈佛毕业生的职业早期年薪为65200美元，职业中期年薪为12.3万美元。
这位清洁工名叫Liang Zhao Zhang（张良朝，音译），在他27万美元的收入当中，有16万美元来自加班所得（overtime pay），基本工资5.8万美元只占少部分。
根据加州当地法律规定：
1、员工一天工作在8小时~12小时的，超出8小时的部分要给予1~1.5倍的加班工资；如果连续7天上班，那么第7天的8小时工作时间，也要按照1~1.5倍给予工资。
2、员工一天上班时长在12小时以上的，超出8小时的部分要按照2倍工资给付；连续7天上班的，第7天超出8小时的部分，按照2倍工资给付。
加州政府对于加班的管控非常严厉，硅谷大型科技企业因为员工加班被起诉的案例并不少见。
在2013以及2014年，张良朝的收入分别为18.6万美元、22.5万美元，加班工资同样是主要来源。
也就是说，在过去3年，张良朝总计获得了68.2万美元的收入，约合人民币460万元。

面对大家对张良朝的薪资质疑，BART的发言人Alicia Trost表示，“张良朝不应该被他高额的加班工资而受到大众的指责。每个人都有同等的加班机会，但是他却把他能用上的时间都用来加班了。
Trost补充道，“我们把地铁站的清洁摆在首位，因为那是BART地铁站的门面。看似很简单的清洁，其实需要很大的工作量。碰到大型的活动，像球赛，节日这样的日子，很多员工会放假，或请病假，人手方面常常不够。我们也尽量调节员工的加班和基本工资。但是增加员工往往比加班成本更高。”

BART是张良朝工作的公司，去年该公司在员工薪资上的花费超过了4.7亿美元，相比2014年增长了10%。
BART公司似乎很舍得在员工身上花费重金。其实不止张良朝，去年收入在14.8万美元（即人民币百万元）以上的地铁清洁工总计有11位，只不过张良朝位居第一罢了。紧随张良朝其后的Yiu Fai Ko去年也有高达22万美元的收入。当然，他们也要加班！
