韩国政府于日前召集国土地理情报院、未来创造科学部、中国外交部、统一部、中国国防部、行政自治部、产业通商资源部、国家情报院，就“地图资料境外运出”进行第二次会议后，决议此案处理时限延长为60天。负责磋商的国土地理情报院对于境外运出一事，表示还需要经过审慎的讨论才能决定。
发言人表示，审慎考量地图资讯境外运出对国家安全、以及国内空间资讯产业的影响后，认为有必要与Google再就国家安全、产业影响等层面进行额外讨论。而Google方面也在听取韩国政府意见后，要求重新协商，阐明自身立场。
因此原定在8月25日通报Google地图境外运出的审议结果，将延至60天后通知，此前将再召开第三次协商。
Google早前是在6月1日提交地图资料境外运出的申请，在《精灵宝可梦go》于7月在外国推出后，此案的关心程度开始提高，有部分玩家希望可以开放地图资料，另外也有舆论质疑Google未在韩国投资伺服器，可能是为了避税。
Google所请求的资料是5000：1的精密地图资料，标示政府机关与巷弄街道等，根据现行韩国法令，若要将资料运往境外，需要国土交通部的许可才行。
