而2015年第二季度，由于AMD缺乏富有竞争力的产品，桌面显卡市场份额一度跌破了20%，那时候AMD才发布Fiji显卡没多久，虽然HBM显存、超小体积等技术很震撼，但Fiji核心的几款显卡售价很高，因此市场反响不高，销量也不如Nvidia的高端显卡高。

但是今年不同了，由于AMD推出了全新的三款北极星显卡：Radeon RX 480、RX 470和RX 460，至少在国外的售价还算合理（国内另算），因此受到了国外玩家的追捧。即使实际性能并不如Nvidia相同定位的显卡，但是国外的销量还是相当地不错，于是独立显卡的份额就这样上去了。
