早在2014年5月，印度民航局就发布了通知，要求所有国内航空公司花18个月的时间，把自己公司内的CC们划分为正常、超重和肥胖三个等级，以确保只有体型合适的CC才能继续执行飞行任务。

这则通知是这么说的：女性体重指数BMI介于18到22之间被视为正常，22-27被视为超重，大于27就是肥胖。对于男性而言，BMI介于18-25被视为正常，25-29.9就是超重，大于30才是肥胖。

印航拥有3500名CC，按照上述标准有600个被视为肥胖，要求必须减肥。

当130位CC减肥失败之后，印度航空给印度民航局发了一份请愿，试图减轻BMI肥胖标准。因为这些CC可是相当有飞行经验的老CC啊。

但是印度民航局则不予理会，说这些标准也是考虑到安全因素，经过深思熟虑才制定下来的。

印航去年也曾想过停飞所有超重的CC，但是意识到大部分停飞以后，会对公司现有的运行状况造成直接和严重的影响。于是召回了被停飞的CC又飞了3个月，因为招募新CC的工作可能刚好需要3个月。但是据航空公司官员透漏，超重CC仍然在飞。

这一次，印度民航局应该不会手软了。
