Japan Economic News reported on May 18, with more than 1.6 billion users worldwide on the social networking site Facebook, official Chinese media presence is growing. China Central television (CCTV) "fan" than the United States cable news network (CNN), the people's daily is more than the United States, the New York Times.

Chinese State media on Facebook is open on the English version page. As of May 9, CCTV's Facebook page received a total of 25.46 million "compliments", 4 million more than the CNN 21.41 million. In Europe and in the mainstream media, more fans than CCTV only United Kingdom broadcasting company (BBC,2927).

Fans of the people's daily of 18.61 million people, far more than the New York Times (11.16 million) and the Wall Street Journal (4.7 million). Japan Japanese NHK TV fan page only 400,000 people, Japan largest number of fans in the media, but with the wide difference in number of fans, the people's daily and CCTV.

中国官方媒体在Facebook上开设的是英语版页面。截至5月9日，CCTV的Facebook页面共收到了2546万个“赞”，比CNN的2141万还要多出400万个。在欧美主流媒体中，粉丝比CCTV多的只有英国广播公司(BBC，2927万人)。

《人民日报》的粉丝达到1861万人，远远超过《纽约时报》(1116万人)和《华尔街日报》(470万人)。日本NHK电视台的日语版页面粉丝仅为40万人，在日本媒体中粉丝数最多，但却与CCTV和《人民日报》的粉丝数相差悬殊。
