British Airways upgrade WiFi, 10 times faster times at 400Mbps-WiFi, BA-IT information

IT资讯讯 5月10日消息，英国航空公司目前与国际互联网服务供应商签订协议，英航将开始升级旗下航班的WiFi速度，借助于最新的“2KU”技术，速度将提升由之前的30Mbps左右提升到70Mbps，完全升级后的WiFi速度达400Mbps。

“2KU”技术的使用，使得正在飞行飞机上的上网服务与地面的网络服务在性能方面几乎一致，其优势在于架构开放，因而将有众多KU卫星为其提供互联网接入服务，在未来其频段优势将更加明显，网络速度也会进一步提升。

升级将于明年开始，英航旗下波音787和空客A380将优先升级，剩余航班也将在2019年升级完毕，届时的网速可达70Mbps，然而Gogo并未止步于此，该公司正在测试新的网络技术，预计应用后网速可达400Mbps，相较现在网速提升了10倍有余。
