唐长红介绍，为了满足水陆两栖的特性，AG600飞机机体采用了大长宽比、深V形单断阶船体结构，设计和工艺制造难度非常大。AG600从国家立项型号研制启动至今，各参研单位先后克服一系列难题，攻克了技术和管理难关。

“目前，承担AG600飞机首飞任务的001架机已基本完成机体结构大部件及成品交付，全面开展总装工作。进行静力试验的002架机完成机头、中机身、中后机身、后机身、尾翼等大部件交付。”唐长红说。

AG600飞机按照“水陆两栖、一机多型、系列发展”的设计思路，采用单船身式机身、悬臂式上单翼、“T”型尾翼等，选装四台国产涡桨六发动机。飞机20秒内可一次汲水12吨，可执行灭火和水上救援任务，可以在陆地和水面起降，还能在水面停泊实施救援行动，一次最多可救护50名人员。目前，AG600飞机已取得了17架意向订单，展现了良好的市场前景。
