According to Korea's Kyung in daily news, Korea chat software KakaoTalk merged with the second-largest Portal Daum announced on 26th , Tencent KakaoTalk's second largest shareholder, the merger won 5 times the initial investments more than double in big profits.

Tencent April 2012 to KakaoTalk invest 72 billion won (about 438 million dollars) for its development of the game, Tencent also obtained KakaoTalk of 3.6 million shares of the company, sector holding up to 13.3%, becoming Kakao Council speaker of Jin Fanzhu (53.6%) after the second-largest shareholder.

据韩国《京仁日报》消息，韩国聊天应用软件KakaoTalk与第二大门户网站Daum于26日宣布合并，腾讯作为KakaoTalk第二大股东，在此次合并中获得了最初投资额5倍以上的巨大收益。

腾讯2012年4月向KakaoTalk注资720亿韩元(约合人民币4.38亿元)以用于其游戏业务的开发，腾讯也因此获得了KakaoTalk公司360万股，持股比重达13.3%，成为继Kakao理事会议长金范洙(53.6%)之后的第二大股东。

26日，KakaoTalk与Daum正式宣布合并，并向反对合并的KakaoTalk股东支付了每股11.3429万韩元的认购金。认购完成后，腾讯所持股份的价值达到了约4083亿韩元，是腾讯2012年投资额的5.7倍。

KakaoTalk与Daum也通过此次合并提升了竞争力，对两家公司与韩国网络及移动界巨头Naver公司间竞争非常有利。公司将更名为Daum KakaoTalk，而腾讯所持股份的价值预计也将持续上升。

另外，腾讯公司近期已正式开始投资韩国公司，不久前还曾向韩国CJ Games公司投资了5330亿韩元，成为该公司的第三大股东。
