不过近期市场传出消息，宏达电将通过ODM代工厂，生产首批采用联发科3G芯片的智能手机。宏达电希望通过此举，进入中低端市场，在中国等新兴国家打开局面。进入2014年，中国的4G时代来临，在市场的巨大诱惑力和巨大压力下，双方终于正式携手合作，共同出击4G智能手机产业。

据悉，联发科今年已经向威盛集团取得CDMA2000IP授权，计划推出6模的4G手机芯片，与中国大陆官方扶持的展讯一较高下。由于三星凭借垂直整合优势成为台湾手机产业最大的竞争对手，台湾业界希望双方能够精诚合作，带动整个台湾产业界的发展，共抗三星，建立完整的生态链。
