羊城晚报讯 记者黄宙辉报道：今早，羊城晚报记者从广铁集团最新获悉，经过5年多的施工建设，连接深圳、汕头、厦门三个经济特区的厦深铁路今天开始全线空载试运行，往正式开通的日期再迈进一步。
广铁集团表示，试运行期间，厦深铁路将开行不运载旅客的试验动车组列车，进行列车运行图技术参数测试，列车工作人员根据正式运营状态开展各类应急模拟演练等内容。
厦深铁路是我国“四纵四横”快速客运网中一纵——东南沿海铁路的重要组成部分。它的开通运营，标志着国家“十一五”规划“四纵四横”客运通道中的“四纵”全部拉通。厦深铁路向西通过深圳北站连接广深港客运专线，向东与福厦、温福、甬台温、杭甬等高铁线路相连，全长502公里，为双线、电气化、国家I级客货运共线铁路，于2008年开工建设，2013年8月10日全线铺通，10月5日进入联调联试阶段。
厦深铁路开通运营后，将我国最具经济活力的珠三角与长三角地区连成一片，大大缩短了深圳、港澳地区与沪宁杭地区的时空距离，使得一日往返深圳、汕头、厦门三个经济特区成为现实。同时结束了沿线漳浦、云霄、诏安、饶平、普宁、陆丰、汕尾、惠东等8个县市不通铁路的历史，将成为我国长三角、珠三角、闽粤、港澳、西南等地区之间客货交流的重要纽带。
