　　29日，在河北张家口市宣化区，记者看到，宣化古城南城墙处的城墙主体被凿有空洞，像一个个“窑洞”，还有不少“窑洞”被安装上门上了锁，俨然成为天然储存室。

　　在附近卖蔬菜的王师傅指着一个“窑洞”对记者说，这个洞存在了起码有十年之久，偶尔还看到有人进出。他认为，这就是一个土坡，不少人都在附近倒垃圾，对于“古城墙”一说，他表示并不了解。

　　据宣化区文化旅游局文保所所长刘海文介绍，今年9月，宣化区对古城北城墙进行长3000米的主体修复，目前，古城西城墙整体修复完善，北城墙正在进行修复，而东城墙和南城墙则破损较为严重。他表示，修缮需要过程和资金维护。

　　据了解，宣化古城始建于明洪武二十七年，是中国北方现存古城中历史悠久、规模宏大、地位重要的著名城池，为明长城九镇之首。古城周长12120米，为正方形城堡，古城城墙距今已经有600多年历史，从明洪武二十七年至清光绪二年共进行过14次较大规模修缮。2006年3月，宣化古城被公布为全国重点文物保护单位。(完)
