记者从贵州省铜仁市松桃苗族自治县获悉，位于该县境内的普觉隐伏超大型锰矿床日前通过国家详查备案，整个矿区资源量达2.03亿吨。
据贵州省地矿局（官网）通报，锰矿是铁矿、铝矿之后，排位第三的大宗金属，属国家战略紧缺矿产之一，在电池、磁性新材料等方面都有广泛应用。中国是全球最大的锰矿石和锰系材料生产、消费大国。
近年来，国土资源部中国地质调查局和贵州省国土资源厅认真贯彻落实中国国务院找矿突破战略行动计划纲要（2011-2020年），在素有“锰都”美誉的铜仁市部署实施锰矿整装勘查。
经过不懈努力，依托具备国际领先水平的锰矿成矿新理论和隐伏矿找矿新技术，先后发现了贵州普觉、道坨、高地、桃子坪等4个世界级隐伏超大型锰矿床和6个大中型锰矿床等。
“贵州发现四个超亿吨锰矿床，新发现总量达到6亿多吨，超过了国内原有5亿多吨的保有总量，占目前中国所有锰矿保有资源量的60%左右，这是国内锰矿找矿的突出成果，对于中国发展工业尤其是钢铁业起到了关键性的作用，可以很好地降低锰矿对外进口依存度。”中国工程院院士、中国地质科学院科技委主任陈毓川在接受采访时表示。
