从昨晚开始的新一轮降雨天气来袭，重庆奉节县竹园、青莲等乡镇降雨量超过50毫米，导致山洪暴发。截至今天上午，县城通往竹园、青莲两个乡镇的部分道路受阻。
从昨晚11点到今天上午8点，持续9个小时的降雨导致奉节县竹园、青莲两个乡镇的降雨量超过50毫米以上，大量的雨水汇集山体致使山洪暴发。

今日中午12点左右，奉节县竹园镇龙池乡老铁厂路段由于暴雨，山体出现垮塌，滚落的山石占满了路面。期间，一辆竹园至奉节方向的城乡公车行驶在该路段时，正好遇到山体垮塌，掉落的石头砸到公车头部，前右车灯处受到损害，幸好并没有人员伤亡。

在青莲镇县级道路上，大量的雨水夹杂着泥石不断的涌向路面，积水最深处达到30厘米，仅仅2公里的路段内就有多处路段受阻。

截至目前，受到强降雨的影响导致奉节县县城通往竹园、青莲的道路受损严重，部分路段已经禁止通行。
为了保障安全，目前中国公安部门已经在受阻路段前100米处设立的警戒线，并派驻警察值守，提醒过往车辆绕行。
万州、云阳高速入口有交通管制
