记者注意到，首都机场划定的净空保护区面积为1057.6平方千米，顺义、朝阳、通州、昌平、怀柔5个区的部分街道、镇和地区，都在这个长方形的区域内。市民发现有无人机闯入，可通过“首都机场净空保护”微信公众号举报。
公布划一千平方公里市民可用微信举报
首都机场消息称，为保证民航客机安全，民用机场净空保护区域为每条跑道两端20公里、两侧10公里范围。记者了解到，随着首都机场T3航站楼和第三条跑道投入使用，首都机场净空保护区扩大，2010年《北京市民用机场净空保护区域管理若干规定》开始实施，明确了净空保护区禁止从事的活动。
首都机场公布的净空保护区示意图显示，首都机场有3条跑道，净空保护区呈南北长、东西窄的长方形。其西北角为怀柔区怀北镇北台子村、东北角为怀柔区杨宋镇安乐庄村、东南角为通州区潞城镇七级村、西南角为朝阳区南磨房乡南大山子村，总面积约1057.6平方公里，约为五环路以内市域面积的1.5倍。顺义、朝阳、通州、昌平、怀柔5个区的部分街道、镇和地区，都在这个区域内。
首都机场称，根据《民用机场管理条例》、《北京市民用机场净空保护区域管理若干规定》、《民用无人驾驶航空器系统空中交通管理办法》等相关法规，在净空保护区放飞无人机的行为，不但会面临数万元的罚款，还将处以拘留，造成严重危害的还可能触犯刑法。
首都机场提示，相关无人机厂商等单位以及广大无人机爱好者共同维护好净空保护区域内的净空安全环境。目前，市民还可以通过“首都机场净空保护”微信公众号对违法使用无人机的行为进行举报。
