2月17日，河北承德市政府办公室的相关人员向记者证实，当天中午，承德市一酒店KTV发生爆炸，目前政府相关部门已经采取应急预案，调查事件发生原因。
该名工作人员表示，现在具体伤亡人数不明，要等现场调查清楚才能确定。

稍早前，有网友向记者爆料称，17日中午12点左右，河北承德市双桥区新华路附近一家酒店的KTV发生爆炸。
该网友提供的视频和图片显示，爆炸发生时威力很大，附近玻璃都给炸碎了。
因为爆炸导致现场浓烟滚滚，爆炸的冲击波还导致一辆公交车严重受损。

同时，记者还了解到，事发地点位于承德双桥区武烈路和新华路交汇的盛华大酒店和钱库KTV附近。
记者分别与酒店和KTV联系，但电话均无人接听。
随后，记者从承德市政府办公室相关工作人员处了解到，爆炸发生在当天12点左右，目前政府的领导和相关工作人员已经赶赴现场，爆炸原因的调查工作也已经启动。
对于现场伤亡情况，该工作人员表示，因爆炸刚刚发生，现场情况还不清晰，所以具体人数还不清楚，稍后会有相关情况通报向社会发布。
