　　在江西船滩镇的船滩河道内，村民发现了多数的乌木，其中最长一根10余米，直径70公分。

　　其它均为1到5米，直径10公分到70公分不等。据村民介绍，河里的乌木多年前就有人看见过，只是没有把它与乌木联系到一起。

　　确定为乌木后当地政府及时相关部门派人日夜守护。

　　相关部门调来了1台大型挖掘机，一台臂长30米的起吊机和一辆加长大货车进行挖掘，为方便运输，还特意新修了一条长约200米的砂石路通到河边。

　　挖掘现场，聚集了1000多人观看。经过6个多小时的挖掘、起吊，4段乌木终于被安全装上了大货车。

　　为保护乌木，工作人员还特意买来了海绵被，小心地将乌木包好。

　　据了解，武宁县政府初步准备把乌木收藏到县展览馆，并对发现者给经济奖励。

　　乌木又称阴沉木，形成时间大多在3000年至8000年不等。是楠木、红椿、麻柳等树木因自然灾害埋入淤泥中，在缺氧、高压状态下，经过长达成千上万年的碳化过程形成的。
