新华网的招股书显示，其IPO发行新股5190万股，占总股本比例25%，募资近15亿元，主承销商为中金公司，登陆地为上交所。

新华网募资主要用于全媒体信息应用服务云平台项目、新华网移动互联网集成、加工、分发及运营系统业务项目、新华网政务类大数据智能分析系统项目、新华网新媒体应用技术研发中心项目和新华网在线教育项目。

股权结构上，新华社直接持有新华网公司82.46%的股份，并通过新闻发展深圳公司、信息社分别间接持有3%、2.54%股份，共计持有88%的股份，绝对控股。文产基金(有限合伙)、中国联通、南方报业、中国电信、江苏广电、中信信托和皖新传媒也均为新华网股东。

据了解，新华网早在2013年就准备IPO，并出现在证监会待审企业名单中。但随后，A股IPO被叫停。在此情况下，新华网上市计划也只能搁浅。直到2014年6月27日，新华网的名字才再次出现在IPO预披露企业名单中。上市之路可谓曲折，历时四年终于成功。
