中国第七次北极科学考察队于今年的7月18日正式到达北太平洋海域，随后开启了首个站位的观测与取样。在接下来的54天中，考察队共完成84个海洋综合站位作业，其中在北冰洋区域完成59个站位作业，最北到达北纬82度53分。

据介绍，本次考察涉及物理海洋、海洋气象、海洋地质、海洋化学和海洋生物等多个学科，考察队主要对北极地区的冰、海、大气、融池和生物5方面要素进行了取样、观测和研究。

另外，“雪龙”号肩负中国南、北极科学考察的重任，在此次考察中，走航多了，冰站作业就会受影响；用在北极考察的时间长了，今年南极考察又会受影响。预计今年10月底，“雪龙”号将再度出发前往南极。
