当阳市卫生计生局局长龚煊介绍，事故发生后，5名伤者被送到当阳市人民医院，其中3人伤势较重，全身90%烧伤，一度出现昏迷休克情况，经武汉同济医院、武汉市三医院、宜昌市医院专家会诊后，生命体征基本稳定。
