HTC最近出炉的股东会年报中，周永明的职称为“前总经理”，HTC方面表示，感谢周永明对公司业务的长远承诺，诚挚祝福他未来发展，并邀请周永明担任HTC荣誉顾问。

周永明有台湾智能手机教父之称，曾经打造多款HTC经典手机，去年3月份周永明辞任HTC CEO一职，由董事长王雪红亲自接任。

业界认为，未来HTC董事长兼执行长暨总经理王雪红、张嘉临，以及沈道邦三人将成为公司的新铁三角。
