云南省森林公安局副局长车伟介绍，今年2月，警方发现常住红河州开远市的周某频繁在微信朋友圈里发布蛇类、蜂猴等野生动物交易信息，并与李某微信联络密切。经调查，查明李某是云南某航空公司的一名白领，不仅常通过微信朋友圈销售珍贵、濒危野生动物，而且极有可能正在出手一只国家一级重点保护野生动物长臂猿。3月28日，云南省森林公安局成立专案组，随着调查的深入，一个利用互联网非法收购、运输、出售珍贵、濒危野生动物，且涉及境外及我国多个省份的犯罪网络逐渐浮出水面。

民警调查发现，在云南活动的犯罪嫌疑人主要有李某、周某等4人，两人一组。其中李某向一个越南人收购长臂猿等野生动物，运到昆明后交由合伙人蒋某喂养看管，再卖给省外买家。周某、杨某主要从越南收购蜂猴、蛇类等野生动物入境，从开远销往省外。两伙人之间也常有野生动物生意往来，并互为对方的销售中介。由于双方仅通过微信、QQ等联系，货款通过微信、支付宝等支付，给案件侦办带来极大难度。

5月案件突然有了转机：一名东北女买家王某与李某碰面准备交易长臂猿，但对现有的一只长臂猿幼体不太满意，李某就约王某一起去河口收购一公一母的一对长臂猿。5月23日，王某、李某和蒋某到河口与越南供货人进行了交易，并雇佣一名当地男子把长臂猿用摩托车先行运过边检站，再在过站后100米的位置接应。经过部署，民警最终抓获了3名嫌疑人，当场从车内查获了2只白掌长臂猿，随后又根据他们的供述从昆明一出租房内查获2只白掌长臂猿。

与此同时，5月20日警方获悉周某和杨某将运输一批野生动物到昆明进行交易，于是将两人抓获并当场查获蜂猴4只、各类野生蛇15条等，随后又在两人租住的房屋内查获了眼镜王蛇、豹猫皮等及大量快递底单，后又在昆明、重庆分别抓获两名未成年买家。

此案共查获国家一级重点保护野生动物白掌长臂猿4只、蜂猴8只、缅甸蟒1条、黄金蟒1条，国家二级重点保护野生动物猕猴1只、红瘰疣螈32只、大壁虎17只，《濒危野生动植物种国际贸易公约》附录Ⅱ物种平胸龟1只，国家保护的有益或有重要经济、科学研究价值的陆生野生动物眼镜王蛇等野生蛇类25条、棕背树蜥6只、豹猫皮3张。全案抓获犯罪嫌疑人7名，其中2名为未成年人，另外5名犯罪嫌疑人已被依法刑事拘留。这5人为丰厚利润已从事多年野生动物非法交易，如李某收购一对长臂猿为1.5万元，卖给王某则售价3万元。

“3·28”专案打掉了一个以昆明、红河为据点及中转站，通过互联网面向全国非法从事野生动物交易的团伙，也切断了一条从越南经河口、昆明走私、出售野生动物的重要交易链。这是目前为止云南破获的最大一起网络野生动物非法贸易案件，也是一次性查获活体灵长类野生动物数量最多、级别最高的一起案件。记者了解到，警方查获的野生动物活体已移送云南省野生动物收容拯救中心进行救助，但其中2只白掌长臂猿在被猎捕的过程中受伤严重，经救治无效，于6月初先后死亡。另外2只白掌长臂猿目前健康状况良好。
