报道称，曾有机构做过一项抽样调查，对某高校3826名在校大学生进行了问卷调查，结果发现：使用耳机的共有3819人，耳机使用率为99.8%，其中每天使用耳机2小时以上的超过了800人，占比超过20%。而在接受调查的学生中，已经出现了噪声性听力损伤的超过了1000人，所占比例接近30%。

国内外的研究都证明，长时间、大音量地使用耳机，会对耳道里的毛细胞造成严重损伤，从而给听力带来不可逆转的伤害。

前不久，国家质检总局发布了连续4年对媒体播放器、手机、平板电脑及配套耳机产品进行的安全风险监测结果。由于我国目前没有耳机类产品的强制性标准，风险监测参考欧盟的相关标准进行。39批次耳机里，有接近40%的产品不符合标准要求，其中还有很多是知名品牌的耳机产品。在连续4年的风险监测中，相关部门累计测试了手机及配套用耳机等成套产品86批次，其中有45批次产品最高声压级超标，不符合率高达51.2%。

欧盟公布的一份调研报告显示，戴着耳机听音乐，耳机声音超过85分贝，时长超过半个小时，可引起暂时性听力下降，如果每天以超过89分贝的高音量听音乐一个小时，持续5年以后就可能永久丧失听力。
