十一大军工集团为中国核工业集团公司、中国核工业建设集团公司、中国航天科技集团公司、中 国航天科工集团公司、中国航空工业集团公司（下称中航工业）、中国船舶工业集团公司、中国船舶重工集团公司、中国兵器工业集团公司、中国兵器装备集团公 司、中国电子科技集团公司和中国电子信息产业集团有限公司。
工商登记信息显示，中国航发注册地址为北京市海淀区蓝靛厂南路5号，注册资本500亿元；同期，中国航空工业集团公司（下称中航工业）注册资本为640亿元。
北京市海淀区政府网站消息显示，中国航发是国务院批复设立的国有控股商业类军工集团公司，下属企业包括中航工业所属从事航空发动机及相关业务的46家企事业单位（在京单位九家）。
中国航发经营范围包括，军民用飞行器动力装置、第二动力装置、燃气轮机、航空发动机技术衍生等产品的设计、研制、生产、销售；飞机、发动机、直升机及其他国防科技工业和民用领域先进材料的研制等。
