报告称，PhishMe在2016年的第一季度追踪到了662波不同的网络钓鱼攻击，虽然这一数字低于2015年的第四季度，然而受影响的用户却远超历史，有超过630万人受到了攻击。勒索软件如今占据了钓鱼邮件的50%，一月份TeslaCrypt勒索软件在网络钓鱼攻击中最流行，CryptoWall家族勒索软件排第二。2月份前三位分别是TeslaCrypt、Locky和CryptoWall，到了三月份Locky占据主导地位。PhishMe称到3月底为止，四分之三的钓鱼邮件附件中附带了Locky勒索软件，主要通过恶意JavaScript脚本文件附件的形式传播。
