据悉，国内患ED人群超过1亿，抗ED药物的市场规模达到数百亿元。在此以前，治疗男性勃起障碍（ED）药物市场由辉瑞万艾可、礼来希爱力和拜耳艾力达三足鼎立。万艾可给辉瑞公司带来了丰厚的收益。根据《南方周末》报道，截至2013年，万艾可在全球已售出3亿片，也成为辉瑞公司在中国市场上最赚钱的“金矿”。

除了医药板块，地奥还大力投资能源板块，然而，自2012年起，整个以煤炭为代表的能源行业出现持续低迷，地奥的能源帝国也受到一定影响。矿业投资的风险预估不足，加上地奥心血康贡献渐不如从前，早日获得“国产伟哥”的准生证就被地奥集团寄予厚望。

不过，公开消息称，除已经上市的广药白云山的金戈外，珠海生化制药、联环药业、河北常山药业等十多家企业正在等待“伟哥”仿制药批文。这意味着国内万艾可的仿制药竞争也并不轻松。

与此同时，国外经验指出，专利药期满后，当仿制药达到一定的市场规模后，才会对国外巨头销量带来影响。
