3月30日，富士康董事会批准收购夏普的计划，董事会决议认购夏普发行新普通股，每股日币为88元，从原先的每股118日圆再往下砍，降幅达到25%，收购金额从最初的近60亿美元降至不到45亿美元。

今年2月25日，夏普董事会接受了鸿海的收购提议。夏普计划通过股权融资筹集4890亿日元；夏普股权融资中的股份将配发给鸿海；夏普将先从鸿海获得1000亿日元的保证金。但随后，夏普先前未披露的或有负债浮出水面后，鸿海又宣布暂缓签署交易协议。
