　　随着全球范围内新的迁移目的地的出现，移民流动的地域正在发生着改变。新的发展中国家作为移民输出国的同时也正在成为移民接收国，因此，中低收入国家之间的人口迁移，即南——南迁移，越来越具有重要性。例如，中国广州等新兴经济体城市成为非洲移民目的地，而中国在接收移民的同时也已成为向中东地区的移民输出国。随着欧洲和北美收紧对非洲移民的入境限制，越来越多国家的移民将中国作为一个更为可行的选择。
