Hunan provincial party Committee, former Deputy Secretary General Ma Yong tried publicly to selective sentencing

湖南省委原副秘书长马勇公开受审 将择期宣判
中新网郴州3月29日电 (记者 鲁毅)29日，经湖南高院指定，郴州中院公开开庭审理了被告人中共湖南省委原副秘书长马勇涉嫌犯滥用职权罪、受贿罪一案。

　　郴州市中级人民法院网当天公布了庭审情况。庭审从上午8点30开始，经过法庭调查、法庭辩论、被告人最后陈述等法定程序，于当日11时40分休庭，由于该案有关证据较多、案情重大，法庭将依法择期宣判。

　　根据检察机关指控，被告人马勇在担任益阳市人民政府市长期间，滥用职权违法决定返还578.85万元土地出让金，在担任益阳市委书记期间，滥用职权造成中央财政专项资金360万元被用于支付企业欠款，致使国家利益遭受重大损失。2007年至2013年期间，被告人马勇利用担任益阳市人民政府市长、益阳市委书记的职务便利，为他人谋取利益，单独或伙同其妻子李万新(另案处理)非法收受单位或个人所送财物，数额特别巨大。被告人马勇犯数罪，应以滥用职权罪、受贿罪追究其刑事责任。

　　公开资料显示，马勇于2007年1月当选益阳市市长，次年3月，他被任命为益阳市委书记。2013年4月，马勇被任命为湖南省委副秘书长。2015年5月13日，湖南省纪委宣布：“经湖南省委批准，马勇涉嫌严重违纪，接受组织调查。”2015年10月8日，湖南省人民检察院依法对马勇以涉嫌滥用职权罪、受贿罪决定逮捕。
