当晚9点，武汉晚报记者闻讯赶到事发现场，发现事发路段路面散落着大量汽车零碎部件，一辆槽罐车与一辆小轿车呈迎面相撞状态，消防官兵已经展开救援。小轿车挂武汉牌照，其车头已经面目全非，发动机的位置完全插入槽罐车头底部。槽罐车挂着安徽牌照。经询问得知，严重变形的小轿车内，有6人被困，其中包括1名7岁男童。
