腾讯总裁刘炽平在回答分析师问题时表示，移动支付这部分业务还处于亏损状态，而且亏损随着用户活动的增加而加速增长。作为一个支付平台，当用户将钱从银行账户转移到腾讯的支付账户，公司需要向银行支付转账费用；当用户用腾讯账户里的钱在商家消费的时候，公司会向商户收取一些费用；如果是用户之间的转账，我们不收取费用。此前我们对外公布的数字是，一月份我们向银行支付的转账费用在减去我们收取的费用之后达到了3亿多人民币，公司负担的这部分费用相当大，所以我们才宣布从3月1日起开始，当用户从腾讯账户取现到银行卡的时候，会收取一些费用，来减少公司的开支。
