　　米歇尔在演讲开始时，首先表达了她和奥巴马总统对马航MH370航班事件的慰问，呼吁人们共同为之祈祷。她在演讲中介绍了自己接受教育的经历，并表示，中美相隔遥远，难免会有一些误解和偏见，但通过这次对中国的访问，她惊讶地发现双方的共同之处如此之多。

　　米歇尔说：“过去一周，当我看到你们这个迷人国度的古代奇观和现代成就时，当我和像你们一样杰出的年轻人见面时，我对我们共同的未来抱有前所未有的信心。我迫不及待地想看到你们取得的所有成就，不论是在中国还是世界各地。”

　　随后，米歇尔来到成都七中远程教学协作项目高一直播班与师生互动，并通过视频系统与七中合作学校的学生进行了实时交流，回答了同学们的提问。

　　应中国国家主席习近平夫人彭丽媛邀请，米歇尔及家人于3月20日至26日访华。米歇尔一行此前已访问北京、西安，于24日到达成都。成都是此行第三站也是最后一站。
