据三星介绍，在这项新专利协议中，双方公司将共享使用现有的专利技术，这项专利共享协议将延续十年期限。

这次专利协议，并未涉及特定的商业项目，主要集中在双方公司将继续研发相关的项目，无需担心对方的专利侵权问题。

据三星知识产权中心负责人Seungho Ahn博士介绍：本次三星谷歌新专利协议，在未来十年内，可以更加专注于新产品设备的研发中，无需涉及频繁的专利纷争中。

虽然三星和谷歌达成了这项新协议，但是韩国有关人士认为，未来需要新的移动OS替代现在高度依赖的Android系统。

目前三星公司也研发了自己的移动系统平台Tizen OS。
