国家新闻出版广电总局发出通知，要求广播电视节目规范使用通用语言文字
2013年12月31日，国家新闻出版广电总局发出通知，要求广播电视节目规范使用通用语言文字，在推广普及普通话方面起到带头示范作用。
通知指出，规范使用、推广普及国家通用语言文字是贯彻落实《国家通用语言文字法》的基本要求，是树立文化自信、提高文化软实力、增强中华民族凝聚力的重要内容。广播电视作为大众媒体和主流媒体，播音员主持人和嘉宾作为公众人物，必须在推广普及普通话、规范使用通用语言文字方面发挥积极的示范和表率作用。
通知要求播音员主持人除节目特殊需要外，一律使用标准普通话。不得模仿地域特点突出的发音和表达方式，不使用对规范语言有损害的俚语俗词等；用词造句要遵守现代汉语的语法规则，避免滥用生造词语和不规范网络用语；要规范使用外国语言文字，不在普通话中夹杂不必要的外文。
通知要求加强对节目嘉宾规范使用语言的提醒和引导。播出机构邀请嘉宾参与节目时事先对其规范使用语言做出提示，对于嘉宾刻意模仿地域特点突出的发音和表达方式、随意使用方言、夹杂外语等情况及时提醒纠正。
通知强调，各级广播电视播出机构要把规范使用普通话纳入播音员主持人和编辑记者培训、考核和奖惩体系；认真开展规范用语自查自纠，做好播前审查，含有不规范用语的内容一律不得播出。

上海广播电视台已把总局要求第一时间传达到一线编导主持人，正在研究将规范使用通用语言文字纳入月度绩效考核、年度评优等体系，作为奖惩的重要依据。
天津广播电视台决定在做好内部播音员主持人培训管理的同时，对外购节目和外请主持人加强审查和引导，做到有错必纠。

湖南卫视副总监周雄表示一定把通知精神贯彻到每个节目和所有主持人，从文化自觉、文化自信、文化自强和文化安全的高度，认真抓好规范用语工作。
浙江卫视副总监麻宝洲说：“要对播音员主持人开展规范考核，考核不达标的，坚决不上岗。如果发现问题，我们有内审机制，及时加以纠正和处理。”
