　　地震发生后，湖北省委、省政府主要领导要求受灾地区干部到现场和村户，及时妥善安置受灾群众基本生活，同时强化监测预警，确保安全。湖北省民政厅派出两个工作组分赴巴东县、兴山县查看灾情、指导救灾，并向巴东、秭归调拨救灾棉被3500床、棉衣3500件、帐篷100顶。
