这条微博称，山阳各乡镇学校老师每人收到教育局摊派3000元彩票任务，他们必须完成，完不成考核过不去。在微博附带的照片中可以看到，一名中年男子正在刮彩票，而且桌上放满了彩票。可当记者赶到山阳县中村镇洛峪九年制学校时，这里的校长并不承认有此事。

作为山区学校为什么要提倡本来就收入不高的的教师们去购买彩票呢？事情真相到底如何？记者随后赶到了山阳县教体局，主管体育彩票的肖副局长告诉记者，他们在昨晚就成立了临时调查小组，经过调查已经得出结果。
山阳县教体局副局长肖徐成：该校(中村镇洛峪九年制学校)没有硬性给教师摊派体育彩票销售业务，但是这个事情产生的原因是由于一个成功人士，今年以来给学校先后捐赠了50多万元，其中这个捐赠人明确表示，里面的10万元是用于学校领导班子，发津贴也好，所以经过校委会研究，拿出5万元购买了体育彩票，给每个教师发放。

几经周折，记者得到了陕西某媒体12月11日对山阳县几家中小学进行暗访的视频，视频证实，要求教师购买彩票一事不仅是任务，更是对学校进行考核的一项筹码。视频中可以看到，一些老师正坐在学校的台阶上刮彩票，而先前微博照片上那名周老师，也说了微博里的那句话：这是政治任务。
据了解，作为一名乡村教师每个月工资最多也就是3000多元左右，从画面中我们可以看到，这些刮彩票的教师们除了无奈之外，更多的是敢怒不敢言。中村镇洛峪九年制学校 幼儿园老师这样告诉记者：
幼儿园老师：我买了1000块钱的。
记者：不是说摊派3000多钱么？
幼儿园老师：这3000块钱不是还没买完么。
记者：你还准备买呢？
幼儿园老师：那没办法。
记者：谁规定的，咱学校规定的是吧？
幼儿园老师：不是，好像上边规定的。
在整理暗访视频时记者发现，有两所幼儿园，和一所小学的教师都承认，教体局确实有下派任务让每名老师购买3000元彩票。记者也对周围两个镇的三四所中小学进行了调查。似乎这种情况都有出现。在一所幼儿园的视频中，记者注意到，中村镇中心幼儿园的老师称每个学校购买彩票的数量还会相互评比，并且购买数量少的还会受到通报批评。
幼儿园老师：我们每个人买了1200(元彩票)。
记者：要求买多少？
幼儿园老师：我们每个人要求是3000。
