Microsoft has decided to become more active in solving Kenya's piracy problems, and warned that people who continue to use pirated software or businesses were arrested.

Microsoft said it had distributed to organizations and individuals suspected of using pirated software letters, so as to encourage them to buy legitimate products. From January 15 next year, Microsoft and the Kenya Copyright Board will examine the SME to determine whether they are using legitimate software.

Microsoft said the companies continue to use pirated software and the fate of individuals face fines or arrest.

Kenya more than more than 200 small and medium enterprises also received a letter reminding them to stop using pirated software, purchasing legitimate Microsoft products, like Windows and Office. Retailers who are found to be selling illegal content also face investigation.

To help Kenya users of legitimate software, Microsoft's Kenya Branch also launched discounts and promotions so that Windows and Office prices moderate.

Kenya's piracy problem is very serious, up to 78% per cent of computers using pirated software. So Microsoft decided to make great efforts to solve the problem.

为帮助肯尼亚的用户使用合法软件，微软肯尼亚分公司也发起了打折促销活动，使Windows和Office的价格适中。

肯尼亚的盗版问题十分严峻，高达78%以上的电脑使用的都是盗版软件。因此微软决定下大力气解决这一问题。
