据香港《明报》报道，香港英皇集团主席杨受成早前控告Google，指在网站输入杨的中英文名字时，网站的“搜寻建议”出现诽谤字词。案件7日于香港高院提讯，Google申请撤销诉讼。
Google庭上表示，涉案的搜寻建议，是根据字词的流行度而得出，又举例指即使Google出现“警务处长黑社会”的搜寻建议，也不等于做出了“警务处长是黑社会”的陈述。
代表Google的资深大律师麦高义表示，Google只是中立地根据搜寻字词的流行度做出搜寻建议，一切都纯粹基于统计学分析，随时间和地区的不同会出现不同结果，故不能说Google是诽谤内容的“发布者”。麦高义又称，于Google键入“杨受成”后出现的字词，彼此之间没有任何语法上的联系，根本不能成为诽谤的陈述，最多只反映了Google使用者对此议题有兴趣，但不构成任何看法或意见。
杨受成一方称，他于香港及海外地区皆为知名人士，涉案的诽谤字句对他影响甚大。杨受成一方又援引澳洲案例，指当地陪审团曾裁定Google属诽谤内容的“发布者”，故此案存有重大法律争拗，不应轻易地被撤销。暂委法官吴美玲决定押后裁决。
