Answer: since the reunification in 1997, the "one country, two systems" practice in Hong Kong has been widely recognized as successful. Britain's move as interference in China's internal affairs, the Chinese side expresses strong dissatisfaction.

The Chinese side has made solemn representations to the British side. China urged the British side to respect China's position and concerns, will honor its commitments, stop in any way to interfere in Hong Kong Affairs and take effective measures to eliminate the adverse effects and take practical actions to safeguard the Sino-British relations and cooperation between the two countries.
