The Beijing News (reporter Liao Ailing) informed today by the General Administration of quality supervision, since October last year, the Shenzhen port from ships importing United States of MIR162 corn checked out without the approval of China's Ministry of agriculture after the GMO ended on April 21 this year, national entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau at 1.124 million tons of imported United States MIR162 detected genetically modified components in maize and its products.

Current 1.124 million tons of imported maize and its products, returned to the port inspection and quarantine agencies are legally processed.

AQSIQ requires, the port inspection and quarantine departments to strengthen the port guard, once in the detection of unapproved genetically modified ingredients in imported agricultural products will be returned or destroyed.

　　新京报讯 (记者廖爱玲)国家质检总局今日通报，自去年10月深圳口岸从一船进口美国玉米检出未经我国农业部批准的MIR162转基因成分后，截止到今年4月21日，全国出入境检验检疫机构共在112.4万吨进口美国玉米及其制品中检出MIR162转基因成分。

　　目前对这112.4万吨进口玉米及其制品，口岸检验检疫机构均依法作出了退运处理。

　　国家质检总局要求，各口岸检验检疫部门加强口岸把关，一旦在进境农产品中检出未经批准的转基因成分，一律作退运或销毁处理。
