  据美国《个人计算机杂志》网站报道,去年6月,中国的“神威·太湖之光”夺取了世界上速度最快的超级计算机500强榜单的桂冠。它能够完成每秒93千万亿次浮点运算,取代了“天河二号”,成为最快的计算机,同时是后者速度的3倍。


  不过,“神威·太湖之光”似乎不太可能长期保持最高的排名,因为中国计划在2017年年底之前实现超级计算领域的里程碑。据法新社报道,中国正在进行一台能完成每秒百亿亿次计算的计算机原型设计,这样就能让“神威·太湖之光”看上去显得很慢。一旦投入工作,它将是百亿亿级超级计算机的第一个例子。


  不过,在2020年前,预计还看不到一台完全能用的百亿亿级超级计算机。中国是在一个五年计划期间开展开发工作的,最新的五年计划是从2016年到2020年。这种新超级计算机将在2020年的某个时候交付,届时将安装在湖南的国防科技大学,其座右铭是“厚德博学,强军兴国”。
